A lot happens to Harry Potter in the final chapters of the book. Harry, Ron and Hermione get past Fluffy the three-headed dog and go through the trapdoor to try and get the stone. They make it past various obstacles. They all play a big part in getting Harry to the end. Ron plays the best game of wizards chess ever and Hermione stops the Devil's Snare and works out the potions test. Harry flies on a broomstick and gets the key to open the door. I think this would have been especially good for Ron's self-confidence because he has grown up with 5 older brothers that achieve highly.
Harry meets Lord Voldemort and Lord Voldemort tries to convince Harry to join him. Harry says he would never. This is a big and courageous decision.
Through the book, Harry has gone from being a normal boy living in the muggle world, to being a courageous young man who is able to defeat Lord Voldemort. This shows how change of setting, meeting new people and event can really change a person.
